Location: Coppice Alupack, manufacturing site-based with flexibility by agreement

Function: Business transformation / operations improvement

Level: Open to experienced candidates or high-potential junior / graduate candidates

Role overview

Coppice Alupack is looking for an AI Process Automation Specialist to help improve how our sales, procurement, finance, and planning teams work.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can review real business processes, identify where time and effort are being lost, and turn those opportunities into practical AI-enabled workflows using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and related tools.

You do not need to be the finished article. We are open to an experienced AI automation professional, or a junior candidate, graduate, apprentice, or early-career professional who is actively developing skills in agentic AI, Copilot, automation, process mapping, or business systems. For the right person, we will support continued development and external accreditation.

The opportunity

This role will sit close to the business, not in isolation behind a screen. You will spend time with colleagues across sales, procurement, finance, planning, and operations to understand how work actually happens, document processes clearly, and identify where Copilot agents or automation could reduce manual work, improve accuracy, speed up decisions, and create better visibility.

You will help Coppice Alupack move from using AI tools to embedding practical AI agents into everyday business processes. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys asking good questions, breaking complex work into simple flows, and turning ideas into usable solutions.

Responsibilities

·       Review existing processes across sales, procurement, finance, and planning.

·       Map current ways of working into clear process flows, operating procedures, and user journeys.

·       Identify opportunities where Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, or similar AI tools could improve efficiency.

·       Design, test, and help implement AI agents or automated workflows.

·       Work with teams to understand pain points, exceptions, handovers, approvals, data inputs, and reporting needs.

·       Support the development of safe, controlled, and practical AI use across the business.

·       Help define success measures, such as time saved, fewer manual steps, faster responses, better data quality, or reduced duplication.

·       Document new processes and support training for users.

·       Work with internal stakeholders and external partners where needed.

·       Stay up to date with developments in Microsoft Copilot, agentic AI, Power Platform, ERP systems, and business automation.

Essential skills and experience

·       Understanding of agentic AI, AI agents, or intelligent automation.

·       Good working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, or the wider Microsoft AI ecosystem.

·       Ability to break down business processes into flows, steps, decisions, inputs, outputs, and operating procedures.

·       Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-technical teams.

·       Interest in manufacturing, operational processes, and practical business improvement.

·       Basic understanding of ERP systems or business systems used in sales, purchasing, finance, planning, production, or supply chain.

·       Ability to turn business requirements into clear, practical automation ideas.

Desirable skills

·       Experience in manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, food, logistics, supply chain, or another operational environment.

·       Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Dynamics 365, SAP, Epicor, Sage, or similar ERP/business systems.

·       Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, process mapping, business analysis, or operational excellence.

·       Microsoft certifications such as AI-900, PL-900, PL-200, PL-500, AI-102, Power Platform, Azure AI, or Copilot Studio-related training.

·       Experience delivering workshops, documenting requirements, running pilots, or supporting system adoption.

Candidate profiles

Profile

What we would expect

Experienced candidate

Someone who has already delivered AI automation, Copilot, Power Platform, ERP, business analysis, process improvement, or digital transformation work in a business environment.

Junior / developing candidate

A graduate, apprentice, early-career analyst, or self-taught AI enthusiast who can show active learning, curiosity, process thinking, and a strong desire to build practical AI solutions in a manufacturing business.

What success looks like

In the first 6 months, you will have reviewed core processes across sales, procurement, finance, and planning, created a prioritised list of AI automation opportunities, and delivered initial Copilot or workflow pilots with measurable business benefit. Over time, you will help Coppice Alupack build a practical AI-enabled operating model that improves productivity without losing the judgement, knowledge, and teamwork that make the business effective.

Why join Coppice Alupack

This is a chance to shape how AI is used in a real manufacturing business. You will not just be writing reports or experimenting with technology; you will work directly with people, processes, systems, and operational challenges where better automation can make a visible difference.

Coppice Alupack will support the right person with development, training, and external accreditation. If you are already experienced in this space, you will have the opportunity to lead practical AI adoption; if you are earlier in your career, you will have the opportunity to grow quickly by applying AI to real business problems.
